green bullet Ongoing Building Projects, or Out With the Orange!

Serials Desk  The Roof
This project began during the Winter break and is almost complete.  When the replacement for a broken section arrives and the shelving is in place, the Serials Reading Room will be looking great!

Roof work began in November and continues as work moves from section to section.  We are all looking forward to no more leaks when it rains!

Chairs and Study Carrels Reference Office

New chairs for Davidson Library arrived in late January and carrels and tables will be arriving soon.  These will replace the tables in the elevator lobbies on floors 4-7 and will also replace the old carrels and chairs in the central section of  the second floor of the eight-story building.  Six new tables for the GIC reading area have also been ordered.
out with the old!
Due to their size, the carrels and tables will be moved and assembled in each of their respective places and will replace each piece of old furniture one by one.  As over 300 chairs and over 100 double carrels have been ordered, it will take several weeks before all the work has been completed by the campus Furniture Services staff.

As Interlibrary Loan moved to their new office downstairs, improvements for the Reference offices were planned.  Keep an eye out as this area begins its transformation.

green bulletTime to Conserve

In light (pun intended!) of all the bad news about power shortages around the state, Bruce Machado found this very graphic demonstration of how much we are dependent upon electricity.
Let's all do our part to conserve energy resources whenever we can!
