A Poem for Sylvelin Edgerton Upon Her Retirement

Sylvelin moving her plantsTo Syl, at her time to depart,
With sorrow deep down in our heart,
we express these to you,
there are more than a few,
words of wisdom we have to impart.

Your calm indeed did radiate
as you helped patrons who infuriate.
Although you won't miss
oh such sweet bliss,
think of us at home as you luxuriate.

To new life, with promise to invigorate.
To open roads, by which you will navigate.
While you pack and you plan,
don't forget that you can
come to happy hours and just vegetate.

Forget your office--we'll redecorate.
The plants, I will appropriate.
Overlook all the mess,
you leave us with less,
but on your retirement, we congratulate!

To the desk full of papers, destroy!
Days of grandma ahead, it's a boy!
Gardens and hiking,
Travels and biking,
Life's wondrous journey continues; enjoy!
