About the Addition and Renovation

Q: How will the Addition be used?

We’re excited about it! The 3-story Addition on the north end of the library will house Special Collections. The space will be climate-controlled to preserve of our rare and fragile materials. The Addition will also house a variety of much-needed collaborative learning and teaching spaces, including a new classroom and a lab for faculty development of electronic research and teaching tools.

Q: What about the older 2-story section?

The existing 2-story section will be completely rebuilt. The art and architecture collection will be moved from its current location in the music building to become the Art Library the newly renovated section. The science and engineering collection will have an entirely reconstructed environment.

Q: After this project has been completed, will we have space for newly published materials?

Yes.  We are incorporating growth space into our planning.
