1. Librarian appointments to the Library Council

LAUC may submit a slate of librarians, from which Sarah will appoint 3 librarians to the council, 1 supervisory and 2 non-supervisory. Janet will send an announcement asking for volunteers.

2. Brown bag to discuss LAUC's status

A brown bag discussion will be scheduled for Thursday, July 27, to discuss LAUC's status and professional standing. We thought it would be beneficial to invite Patsy Inouye to a brown bag in the near future.

3. Committee reports

CAAR (LLamas) Search for the Near East Studies Librarian closed on July 14. Catherine Nelson is chair of the search committee. Members are: Sylvia Curtis, Sandy Lewis, Grace Thomas, Caitlin Hunter, Peter Pang and Dwight Reynolds.

Asian American Studies Librarian (DeDecker) Interviews are completed and the search committee has sent forward its recommendation to Sarah.

CPD (Lueck) All travel money for this year has been distributed.

CAP (Hayman) All but two reviews are complete. CAP will send out a call for nominations for the Nyholm award. It's been suggested CAP recommend the announcement of promotions.  Hayman will refer this matter to the incoming 2000/01 CAP chair.

Program (Curtis) A visit to library-type collections on campus is being planned.

4. Other items

Please update your committee web pages. The deadline for drafts of the annual reports will be date of the transition meeting with the new board. Annual reports for each committee should be completed by September 30. Sherry will prepare a guideline and checklist for planning an assembly.
