LAUC Santa Barbara
Membership Meeting
April 18, 1997


Meeting was called to discuss the LAUC Response to the Library Review 
and  for general announcements.

Chair Rosemary Meszaros called the meeting to order at 9 am.  First order 
of business was the introduction of Lynne Hayman, Head of the Cataloging
Department and her welcome to UCSB.

Brief reports were made from the LAUC Committees:

CAP: CAP Chair, Sharon Bullard, reported that the committee was on 
schedule in its review of packets.

CAAR: In the absence of CAAR Chair, Catherine Nelson, Meszaros reported 
that offers made to candidates one and two for the Curator of Music 
position were declined by both.  The search committee for the Reference 
position is requesting letters of reference.

CPD:  CPD Chair, Chuck Huber, reported that professional funding was being 
distributed.  Most of the funds have been expended at this time.  No 
research grant applications were received from LAUC-SB.

Chair Meszaros reported that the LAUC Spring Assembly will be held at 
UCLA's Faculty Club on May 8, 1997.  LAUC-SB delegates are: Yoland Blue 
and Patrick Dawson.  

Sally Wilson Weimer reported that the campus Committee on Affirmative 
Action was looking at affirmative action compliance in conjunction with 
the federal funding received by the campus.

Wei-ling Dai gave to all in attendance a copy of the Summary of Endorsed 
Resolutions which she received from the Senate Library Committee.  These 
resolutions deal with the Advisory Task Force Library Planning and Action 
Initiative.

The rest of the meeting was devoted to the discussion of the LAUC-SB's 
response to the Library Program Review. The response can be found on 
the L drive - L\:lauc\respond#.doc. (# = version number)

Meeting adjourned at 11 am.
