Minutes of LAUC-SB Executive Board February 26, 1998

 

 Present:  Patrick Dawson, Sherry DeDecker, Carol Gibbens, Jim Markham,

 Janet Martorana



 1.  LAUC-SB Executive Board will meet with Ronald Tobin on March 5, 1 p.m.

       Lucia Snowhill will be invited to attend, as Chair of statewide

               LAUC.



 2.  The group formulated a list of questions to ask Dr. Tobin; these will

 be sent to him ahead of time.  In addition to questions, we plan to

 explain what LAUC is, and our advisory role with library administration.

 We will invite him to come speak with LAUC-SB soon.

   Dawson will send Dr. Tobin the librarians' draft proposal for     

 vision and goals for the library long range plan.



 3.  A LAUC-SB business meeting will be called for March 6, to discuss the

  librarians' salary issue, CAAR will ask about librarian positions to

 recommend, and Dawson will give a report on the LAUC Executive Board

 meeting to be held March 4 in Oakland.



 4.  The issue of the possibility of using Library Assistants at the

 Reference Desk on a temporary basis was raised.
