LAUC-SB Executive Board meeting
December 18, 1997

Present:  Dawson, Chair, DeDecker, Gibbens, Markham, Martorana

Absent:   Hayman, Meszaros



1.  Four people were nominated as the LAUC-SB representative to the

Library's Steering Committee on Planning.  Sherry DeDecker was appointed

by the LAUC-SB Executive Board. 



2.  Dawson and DeDecker will be meeting with Executive Vice Chancellor

Crawford, Friday December 19, 9AM - Agenda items were discussed: 

	Organization of the library administration and who LAUC addresses

as director

	Update of budget request

	Progress of the implementation of the recommendations from the

Library Review

	Status on Development Officer

	Staffing issues - let him know CAP is working on issues



3.  Requested agenda items for the library's all-staff meeting in January

were brought up and will be forwarded to Johns.



ACTION:  Dawson will draft a statement of issues to Johns for the

all-staff meeting.



4.  Dawson, as LAUC-SB chair, will be setting up an Ad Hoc Capital

Planning Committee to prepare, develop, and submit a proposal for a new

library building, interim plans, and renovation of existing buildings.



ACTION:  Dawson will send out call for membership on LAUC-SB's Ad Hoc

Capital Planning Committee
