Minutes: Previous business meeting minutes were approved. All minutes are posted on the web site.

CAP (Lynne Hayman) Committee has been working on four points as possible recommendations for the review process next year:

1. Designing a form to be used for secondary reviewers.
2. Compiling the complete list of relevant documentation for the web site.
3. Updating the checklists.
4. Want to have meetings with the review initiators, review officers and secondary reviewers to go over the review process.

CAAR (Nerea LLamas) Updates on searches:

1. Arts: The search committee is interviewing three candidates. The interviews are February 11, 18 and 29th.
2. Fellow: The fellowship search committee is reviewing letters of recommendation. Interviews are expected to take place in March.
3. Asian American: The position will be advertised soon.
4. Near East: This position will be advertised in April.

CPD (Lorna Lueck) CPD is reviewing six LAUC research proposals and will send comments to the Statewide LAUC Research and Professional Development Committee.

Program (Sylvia Curtis) The committee worked with Catherine Nelson and the Melvyl focus groups. Upcoming program with librarians from UCSB, Westmont, SB Public and SB City College. The topic will be a survey and discussion of the each library's strategies for referrals, cooperative use by students, and others, such as those researching genealogy , etc. PIR (Patron Initiated Request) will be the focus of an upcoming program.

Today's program will be an information-sharing session from LAUC-SB members on current projects or topics discussed at midwinter ALA.
