Minutes of the LAUC-SB Executive Committee Meeting
July 18, 2003
Davidson Library, 2nd floor conference room

In Attendance: Mary Larsgaard (President), Cathy chiu (Vice Pres./Pres. Elect), Sherri Barnes (Secretary), Sherry Dedecker (CAP), Eric Forte (CPD), Eunice Schroeder (CAAR), Jane Faulkner (WOM), Bev Ryan (past President), Sally Wilson Weimer, Catherine Nelson,

Meeting called to order at 9:05am

Committee Reports

CAAR
Eunice Schroeder updated us on recent searches. Art search completed and new hire Ellen Kempf began in June. History search failed and will be reopened under the next CAAR committee. Annie Platoff was reassigned from SEL Librarian to Web Services/Electronic Resources Librarian.

WOM
WOM took Ellen Kempf, the new Arts Librarian to lunch when she arrived.

CAP
Sherry DeDecker reported that all review packets were in on time. merit increases will be retroactive July 1 if state budget isn't passed.
A call for 2003 nyholm recipients will go out. Spring award was the 2002 award, which was behind schedule

CPD
Sarah Pritchard (UL) agreed to keep professional development funding at the current level ($600), as opposed to cutting it.
Eric's CPD Chair term was over July 1.. He has been transitioning Jane Faulkner, the incoming Chair, in.

Nominations Committee
Mary announced the election results for incoming officers: Vice Chair/Chair Elect is Eric Forte; Secretary is Sal Guerena; CAAR Chair is Janet Martorana; CAP Chair is Catherine Nelson; CPD Chair is Jane Faulkner. Mary also thanked the ominations Committe for their efforts. Committee memebersincluded Anne Barnhart, Cathy Chiu, Lucia Snowhill, Eric Forte.

Program Committee
Cathy announced that the committee had many successful programs this year, both educational and recreational, the most recent having something to do with steelhead trout. Details were hard to decipher amidst all the laughter.

Old Business
The CMPG paper discussion took place July 16. The position paper #1 discussion is planned for August.

New Business
LAUC Executive System wide transition meeting is scheduled for 8/22 at UCOP in Oakland. Mary recommends that the LAUC-SB systemwide tranisiton meeting be scheduled soon thereafter.
