New Tools for Teaching
Instruction Librarians at UCSB have been busy this past year updating our teaching skills. We've been attending workshops on active learning techniques, and learning ways to incorporate some of the new technologies into our presentations. With a Gyromouse (wireless mouse) and a wireless keyboard, your students have the opportunity to participate in our demonstrations. Also, the transition of many of our databases to different vendors has kept us very busy with training sessions sponsored by the vendors. When you bring your students to us for an instruction session, let us know about their assignments. Our instruction sessions will be more beneficial when students see the link between library research and their assignments.

To schedule an instruction session with a librarian, please visit our web site: www.library.ucsb.edu/libinst/instruct.html. For more information about the Gyromouse, visit: www.gyration.com
