Campus Informatics:
Collaboration
for Knowledge Management
Grant generously
funded by Andrew
W Mellon Foundation
March 2003 - July 2004
One
of the major contributions that a university or college makes to the world
at large is the research output of the faculty and staff researchers. The
research data of an innovative faculty member is valuable, precious, and at
risk. This project focuses on the digital research data of the faculty and
critically examines the storage, maintainance, cataloging, and collaboration
efforts in order to gauge the informatics needs on campus. The project team
utilizes surveys, personal interviews, and roundtable discussion with leading,
innovative, and interdiscplinary faculty and staff researchers on campus.
The project team recommendations and findings will be presented in a research
oriented white paper and a shorter, more concise, report to the campus made
available to the campus community through this web site and at the technology
board meetings.
