UCSB Library Wireless Network

The Library offers wireless access in a number of areas, including all of the 1st, 4th, and 5th floors; on the 2nd floor near the SEL computing area and around EGSL; the 24 hour study room; the Graduate Study Lounge on the 8th floor; and throughout the Arts Library. To use either the wireless network, you must be a current UCSB student or employee.

We have upgraded wireless in the Arts Library and on the 1st, 4th, and 5th floors of the Main Library to the "UCSB Wireless" network. This is faster wireless than the old "Libpub" network. We hope to finish our wireless upgrades during Fall 2009.

Note: If you move from wireless network to wireless network, you may need to refresh your network list before you can connect to the library's wireless network. We currently have two networks in the library:

  • UCSB Wireless: the upgraded wireless network used throughout campus (Arts Library, 1st floor, 4th floor, 5th floor)
  • lib-pub: our old legacy wireless that is being phased out (2nd floor, 8th floor)
