Request a Library Instruction Session

UCSB Faculty and Instructors:

We welcome the opportunity to talk to your class. Use this form to request instruction sessions for Writing Program courses or general library orientations.

To schedule a subject-specific class, please contact the Library Subject Specialist in your area.

Richard Caldwell is the coordinator for library instruction and can be reached at 893-5086 or by e-mail

For questions regarding a class you have already requested, please send an e-mail.

About the Class:

Please provide as much information as possible about the class. The time you are requesting may already by reserved for another class. We cannot guarantee availability of a room or of a library instructor, although we will try to accommodate your request. Please give us a minimum of two weeks to prepare for your class.

If an instructor is not available, we do have research guides.

Library lecture dates and times are not reserved until confirmed by a librarian instructor.
