- American Mathematical Society Global Directory of Mathematics Preprint and e-Print Servers
- The mission of the Global Directory of Preprint and e-Print Servers is to make available to the mathematical community the current homepage URLs and email contacts of all mathematical preprint and e-print servers throughout the world. This directory will provide mathematicians with a tool to find any of these servers in order to browse the articles posted on them
and, in many cases, to post an article to the server itself. The servers are divided into three categories: umbrella servers which cover all areas of mathematics, special subject servers and servers administered by mathematics departments and institutes. There is an additional link to retired preprint services.
- E-print Network
- The Department of Energy's E-print Network (formerly the PrePRINT Network) is a searchable gateway to preprint servers that deal with scientific and technical disciplines of concern to DOE. Such disciplines include the great bulk of physics, materials, and chemistry, as well as portions of biology, environmental sciences and nuclear medicine. With a single query, users can search one or a collection of over 12,000 existing preprint servers and Web sites. The Network pulses the search engines of such servers, compiles the results, and returns them to the users.
- Algebraic Number Theory Archives
- Preprint server for papers in algebraic number theory and arithmetic geometry.
- arXiv.org
- Started in Aug 1991 at Los Alamos National Laboratory by Paul Ginsparg, arXiv is a fully automated electronic archive and distribution server for research papers. The primary site for arXiv is now at Cornell University, where Dr. Ginsparg now works. Archives include many areas of physics and related disciplines, mathematics, nonlinear sciences, computational linguistics, and quantitative biology. LANL still maintains a mirror site at http://xxx.lanl.gov/
- CERN Document Server
- This server, at the renowned high energy physics facility, contains over 550,000 bibliographic records, including 220,000 fulltext documents, of interest to people working in particle physics and related areas. Covers preprints, articles, books, journals, photographs, and much more.
- Chemistry Preprint Server
- The Chemistry Preprint Server is a permanent web archive and distribution medium for research articles in the field of chemistry. CPS allows users to submit their articles to the server where they become accessible to all the members of ChemWeb.com. Membership in ChemWeb.com is free, but does require registration with ChemWeb.
- Cogprints: Cognitive Sciences Eprint Archive
- An electronic archive for papers in any area of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Linguistics, and many areas of Computer Science (e.g., artificial intelligence, robotics, vision, learning, speech, neural networks), Philosophy (e.g., mind, language, knowledge, science, logic), Biology (e.g., ethology, behavioral ecology, sociobiology, behaviour genetics, evolutionary theory), Medicine (e.g., Psychiatry, Neurology, human genetics, Imaging), Anthropology (e.g., primatology, cognitive ethnology, archeology, paleontology), as well as any other portions of the physical, social and mathematical sciences that are pertinent to the study of cognition.
- Computer Science Preprint Server
- A preprint server developed by Elsevier Science Publishers (see also Chemistry Preprint Server above), Mathematics Preprint Server was launched in November 2001 and contains over 400 preprints as of December 2003. Preprints are searchable, browsable by subject category and may be sorted by date of publication, principal's author surname, or by the number of times the articles have been discussed, ranked or viewed.
- Conservation Laws
- This server, containing preprints from 1996-present, is maintained at the Mathematics Dept. of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
- e-Scholarship Repository
- The eScholarship Repository offers University of California faculty a central location for depositing any research or scholarly output deemed appropriate by their participating University of California research unit, center, or department, including working papers and pre-publication scholarship. Departments and institutes which are contributing papers span a wide range of the humanities, social sciences and sciences. This is a service of the eScholarship initiative of the California Digital Library.
- EconWPA
- Working papers in economics, housed at Washington University.
- Groups, Representations and Cohomology Preprint Archive
- This specialty mathematics archive, maintained by Dave Benson at the Mathematics Dept. of the University of Georgia,
includes papers from the early 1980's to the present.
- High Energy Physics Literature Database
- This archive on the Stanford Public Information Retrieval System (SPIRES) of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) contains over 350,000 articles from 1974 to the present.
- Hopf Topology Archive
- This Purdue site deals with papers in algebraic topology. (It was unavailable on Dec. 5, 2003, but is still listed at the Purdue math department.)
- Institute of Mathematics at SUNY-Stony Brook
- Selected preprints from 1990 to present.
- K-Theory Preprint Archives
- Preprint server for papers in K-theory,
maintained by the Mathematics Department at the University of Illinois.
- Mathematics Archive Front End
- Mathematics preprints from arXiv.org with a front-end at UC Davis. This site allows easy browsing by subsectors of mathematics or by author, as well as the ability to search by author, keyword or Mathematics Subject Code.
- Mathematical Physics Preprint Archive (mp_arc)
- This archive, covering 1991 to the present, is maintained at the University of Texas at Austin.
- Mathematical Sciences Research Institute Preprints
- MSRI, located in Berkeley, CA, among its many activities, publishes preprints of work done at MSRI. Preprints are available for 1995 to present. Full text is available in compressed PostScript format.
- Mathematics Preprint Server
- A preprint server developed by Elsevier Science Publishers (see also Chemistry Preprint Server above), Mathematics Preprint Server was launched in May 2001 and contains over 1100 preprints as of December 2003. Preprints are searchable, browsable by subject category and may be sorted by date of publication, principal's author surname, or by the number of times the articles have been discussed, ranked or viewed.
- Political Methodology Working Papers Archive
- A working-paper server developed by the Society for Political Methodology, in conjunction with the American Political Science Association's political-methodology section.
- Politics Research Group Working Papers
- A collection of working papers from the Politics Research Group of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, from 1996 to the present. Some are in HTML, some in PDF formats.
