An excellent brief introduction to the art of collecting data, writing and reading scientific papers in chemistry. It is aimed at the undergraduate, but can be useful for anyone getting started. If you are interested in more information on writing scientific articles, search PEGASUS for the subject "Technical writing". You will find a number of useful, recent books in addition to the style guides in this handout.

This is a vital reference work. Gasteiger is one of the most important researchers in chemical information, and he has assembled chapters from other leading lights, many of whom have other references on this page. Volume 1 has excellent chapters on the computer representation of chemical structures, reactions and data. Volume 2 has outstanding chapters on various types of chemical databases and on searching chemical structures. Voluem 3 covers comutational methods in chemistry, while Volume 4 focuses on computers in synthesis design and drug design. HIGHLY recommended!
