Wireless Internet Access

Wireless internet access is available on both floors of the Arts Library.

Copy Services

  • Epson Expression 836XL color scanner, attached to a PC with a USB port and CD-RW, Zip 250, and 3 1/2-in. floppy drives and with Adobe Photoshop 7.0 software (note: scanning is free, but the workstation is not connected to a printer)
  • two copy machines
  • microform reader/printer

Copy Stand

Cameras and a copy stand are available for use, by reservation only, after receiving the appropriate training. For camera training, sign up at the Arts Library Circulation Desk or contact Lydia Emard at 893-2850.

Seminar Rooms

Two seminar rooms are available to faculty teaching courses with a need to use Arts Library materials. Located upstairs in the Music Library, the rooms have pianos for instructional purposes and are fully equipped for listening and viewing. A data projector is also available for use in the seminar rooms. Please make a reservation with a Music Service Desk supervisor to use the seminar rooms. 893-2641.

Listening and Viewing (Music Library)

  • eight headphone listening stations
  • eight private and two group listening rooms
  • two video viewing rooms
  • ten PCs equipped with sound cards, Quicktime, RealPlayer, and Windows Media Player for online listening
Visiting patrons without a library card may have music played for them from the Music Service Desk over the headphones stations or view video materials at a video station in the Music Library reading area.

Score Reading Room

The Music Library offers one open-access room with a piano for score reading. This room is not available as a practice facility.

Microform Viewing and Printing

Microform materials may be viewed in the upstairs Microform Reading Room, or viewed and printed at the reader/printer located in the Music Library reading area.

Accessibility

Access ramps lead up from the parking lot (Lot 3) side of the Music Building. Restrooms and music materials located on the second floor of the Arts Library may be reached by an outside elevator in back of the Arts Library.

The UCSB Library offers additional Services for Users with Disabilities. If you require additional assistance, contact a library staff member or the Information Desk at (805) 893-2478.

Production Software

Word processing software is available on public PCs in Davidson Library, but not in the Arts Library at this time. Please refer to Instructional Computing for more information.
