Honor with Books

The "Honor with Books" program is a lasting and meaningful way to celebrate the beginning of a college experience, a graduation, a birth, an anniversary, a retirement, or a birthday. You may celebrate professional honors, holidays, or say thank you with the gift of a book. And, what better way to memorialize a special person?

How Honor with Books works ...

bookplate example For $100 per volume, or $500 for six volumes, the University Libraries will place a customized plate in a newly purchased scholarly book in one of these broad subject areas:
  • Arts and Music
  • Social Sciences
  • Humanities
  • Science and Engineering

How naming works ...

The name of the honored person or persons and the donor will be inscribed on the bookplate and will also appear in the book's online catalog entry. A letter of acknowledgement and a copy of the bookplate will be sent to you and to the honoree, or his or her family.

A program with a future ...

Honor with Books is a thoughtful and convenient way to honor others. In addition, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping build and maintain the collection of one of the major research libraries in the country. All gifts will go into an ongoing fund that will support these and other book purchases.

To make a gift, please complete and return the Honor with Books donation form.
