The 37th Annual Edwin and Jean Corle Memorial Lecture, May 2, 2000

Bell Hooks
The 37th annual Edwin and Jean Corle Memorial Lecture, "All About Love: an evening with bell hooks," filled the Hatlen Auditorium to capacity and then some. After an Introduction by UCSB faculty member Dr. Chela Sandoval, the noted lecturer and writer bell hooks discussed topics covered in her recent book, All About Love: New Visions. For more information about bell hooks, please see this article from "Library Waves."

The author enchanted the audience with her interactive, informal style and her pithy observations on the subject of love. Copies of bell hooks's books will be on sale in the UCSB Bookstore as long as supplies last.
The Friends of the UCSB Library hosted a pre-lecture reception and dinner with the author in the McCune Room of the Inter-Disciplinary Humanities Center. Attending were members of the Friends Board, UCSB faculty, Library staff, and members of the community.

University Librarian Sarah Pritchard
