Making a Financial Contribution to the Library

Use this form to make a donation to the library.

The library relies on the financial support of friends for special acquisitions, projects and other initiatives not supported with state funds. The library's endowments support such important areas as preservation projects, acquisitions in a particular subject, or providing cataloging and electronic access for collections. Recent gifts have supported the Alexandria Digital Library, Tibetan Studies, and the processing and preservation of archival material related to the history of Isla Vista. If you are considering a financial contribution for an endowment or for a special project, contact the library development director to discuss the library's current needs and how they might fit in with your wishes.

Donating Books

The Library accepts donations of books. If you have a collection of books you wish to donate in a specific subject area, please contact the collection manager for that subject area. Consult the list of collection managers by subject area for contact information and review the library's gift policy for more information. Please fill out the gift agreement form and submit it with your gift. If your collection is of a more general nature, please contact the Library Development Office at (805) 893-5509 or development@library.ucsb.edu.

Donating Archive, Manuscript and Special Collections Material

Rare books, manuscipts, archival material and other special collections material are housed in the Department of Special Collections. The Library's collections emphasize Santa Barbara history, the Civil War and western expansion, the performing arts, book arts, ethnic groups of California and humanistic psychology.
