Charge

The Committee on Intellectual Property Rights and Scholarship (IPRSC) is charged to:

  • Develop an understanding of and monitor trends and developments in intellectual property rights issues related to library operations, including scholars’ research and use, reserves and e-reserves, interlibrary loan, digitization, photocopying, and teaching resources
  • Build campus awareness and practical knowledge of intellectual property rights guidelines
  • Act as resources for library personnel with copyright and fair use questions and coordinate related training
  • Identify and maintain liaison with campus and UC resource personnel for referral
  • Maintain current awareness of UC and campus policies related to intellectual property rights
  • Maintain a Library resource web site
  • Inform Library Administration of issues, policy and procedural needs
  • Act as a liaison to campus scholars, groups, and programs related to intellectual property rights
